Business High Point Launches Website Highlighting High Point Education
High Point, NC – On Friday, June 8th, Business High Point – Chamber of Commerce (BHP Chamber) in partnership with the High Point Community Foundation (HPCF) held a press conference at Oak View Elementary School to unveil and launch a new website (www.schoolsinhighpoint.org).
The Schools in High Point website has been in the works for a year and meets a crucial need in the community by providing one-stop for information on all public, private and charter educational opportunities within High Point. This convenient platform will allow parents, students, and potential residents to review local schools and learn about their unique programs and strengths.
High Point’s schools are thriving in many ways. From high schools boasting 100% graduation rates to middle schools excelling in STEM/Robotics contests and biology studies. This website will showcase the positive attributes and accomplishments of schools in High Point.
Patrick Chapin, BHP Chamber President & CEO, states, “Our organization is not your typical Chamber of Commerce. Our current formation allows us to step into new territory and develop strategic initiatives that advance High Point. We believe this website can do just that.”
Speaking to the significance of this website, Phil Driscoll, retired American Express executive and chairman of this project notes, “Through our website, the remarkable accomplishments of our schools will be in one, easy-to-find place for students, parents, teachers, and potential residents. Whether you are a long-time resident or new to this vibrant community, the mission of this site is to provide a comprehensive source of information on our schools in High Point, NC.”
Paul Lessard, HPCF President, shares his inspiration to partner with BHP Chamber on this website, “I am very proud to say that the High Point Community Foundation has always been very committed to investing in and strengthening our local schools. We believe that a well-educated populace makes for a healthy and progressive community and we will continue to focus our leadership and resources to this end. This new website is going be a wonderful way to tell others about High Point’s commitment to education and share the many success stories that are out there every single day. The press conference was held in conjunction with Guilford County Schools’ kickoff of Break with a Book, a summer reading and literacy initiative, for which BHP Chamber donated $1,000 to help students have books to read during their break.
