Event Description:
Are you interested in tracing your family tree but don’t know where to begin? This class is for you. In this course, you will develop a basic understanding of the principles of research and how to apply the 5-step research process to your projects. You will learn how to avoid some of the common pitfalls many novice researchers encounter. Course work includes how to conduct basic searches for records, basic search principles and analyzing search results. Upon completion of this course students will have developed the basic genealogical research skills and knowledge to embark on their own research journey. This course will serve as pre-requisite for the 2nd course in the genealogy curriculum on Research Skills.
