It’s June, which means it’s the beginning of SUMMER!! Summer brings us bright colors in the form of delicious fruits and veggies, with summer squashes in particular growing like weeds. To celebrate the beauty of the garden, the High Point Farmers Market will be holding a Food Art Competition! The competition will be split up into 3 categories: Children (10 and under), Teens (11-18) and Adults. You can bring in an arrangement of fruits and vegetables, a single piece of carved produce, or a combination of carved & arranged produce, the only rule is that you have to include Squash! Entries will be judged on creativity, appearance, and skill. The celebrity judges for this contest are Melissa Painter of FOX8, Jeff Horney of Theatre Art Galleries and High Point Police Chief Kenneth Schultz High Point Police Department Other activities include: Bark Point Ramblers will be performing; the Kids Zone will feature a gourd craft by the High Point Museum; Christi Spangle of Barbour Spangle Design will be in our Cooking Corner sponsored by High Point Medical Center.
