Westchester Country Day School will present "Shrek the Musical Jr." as this year's fall musical production. Performances will be Nov. 7-9, 2025, with shows at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday in Rives Hall on the school campus (2045 N. Old Greensboro Road, High Point). Ticket sales will be available a couple of weeks before the show. The cast includes more than 80 students in grades 1-12. "Shrek the Musical Jr." is based on the Dreamworks animation motion picture and the book by William Steig with book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and music by Jeanine Tesori. Once upon a time, in a faraway swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek. One day, Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits who have been cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he's handed a task — if he rescues feisty princess Fiona, his swamp will be righted. Shrek tries to win Fiona's love and vanquish Lord Farquaad, but a fairytale wouldn't be complete without a few twists and turns along the way.
